A finished Crib Skirt!

After many hours of cutting, sewing, measuring and attention to detail, Jaime's crib skirt is complete.

I looked all around for my vision of what this skirt should look like. Once I realized I could not find it already made I ventured into it myself. I wanted the skirt to feel more like a continuation of the furniture versus a part of the bedding. I used a long fringe to decorate the bottom of the skirt and used heavy upholstery fabric for the skirt itself.

With the remaining fabric and findings I will cover some baskets and make a wall decoration that will spell "Jaime". Below is a picture of what I envision doing.

So I am off to Michael's to find the perfect wood letters for this project.

As you know my darling Vivi in our religion it is a blessing to name a newborn after a dear family member that left us.
Your "zeide" Jaime my beloved father, will now see the light....once new Jaime is here, the tiles placed in his eyes will disappear and he will be a shinning light.
I am sure that he will be the guardian on this great grandson....in this little person he will pour all the love and care that many of us knew he had on him....
Thanks for this blessing....
I am so happy you both chose this wonderful name.

Actually, you know, I (Mike) picked the name without knowing it was your father's name. So when Vivi told me about that, it was like confirmation that Jaime was the right choice :-)
